News: Deadline extended to 31 July

The National Carers Strategy is the policy document that underpins national thinking around carers and support for carers.  The Department of Health is responsible for this policy document and is currently consulting on it.   They say

“We think that we need a new strategy for carers setting out how we can do more. One which reflects their lives now, the health and financial concerns they have, and gives them the support they need to live well whilst caring for a family member or friend.”

This is an opportunity for carers to tell those people who can make changes at high level strategic planning what is important in support for carers.

Further information is available on:  https://consultations.dh.gov.uk/carers/how-can-we-improve-support-for-carers.  You can complete an on-line survey, or download a word document that can be completed and sent in to the Dept of Health.

Consultation closes on Thursday 30 June 2016.
