Training for carers of people with dementia

We provide training to education and support carers of people with dementia to enable them to better manage their caring role. The courses focus on giving participants an understanding of dementia, how to access support as a carer, financial and legal affairs and planning for the future. The courses are facilitated by two specialist Dementia Carer Support Workers.

Carer awareness training for staff in primary care

We have a developed carer awareness training and deliver sessions to staff based in GP practices or community based health staff. These sessions are designed to help staff understand the vital role that carers play in healthcare, how to identify and support carers and an overview of the services that Carers Leeds can offer.
