Art and local history project with Skippko arts team

Skippko artists are working across 13 different community groups to gather the stories of lesser known women who were involved in the fight for the vote at the turn of the 20th century.

Carers Leeds and Skippko would like to invite carers to learn about Leeds women, before exploring their own heritage stories with the support of two Skippko artists. Drop in sessions for the project will be held at Carers Leeds City Centre office on:

  • Wednesday 02 October, 10.30am until 12.30pm
  • Tuesday 22 October, 1.30pm until 3.30pm.

The sessions will involve learning a little about women who lived in Leeds 100 years ago, discussions about how life has changed or not changed for women during the last 100 years, plus creative arts activities. All the work made will be included in an exhibition that will be on show at Leeds City Museum in May 2020.
