You may remember that our current contract to support unpaid carers in Leeds comes to an end this March. Last year Leeds City Council began an extensive consultation and procurement process and today we found out that we have been selected as the top bidder and can continue to deliver high quality information, advice and support to unpaid adult carers across Leeds! The contract will commence on 1st April 2019 for a period of five years with options to extend the contract up to a further two years.

This is great news for us and hopefully the 72,000+ carer in Leeds agree!

Val Hewison, our Chief Executive said “We are thrilled to have won the carer support service contract and beyond proud that Leeds City Council recognise our commitment to be the voice of carers across Leeds.

I believe carers are one of the greatest strengths of this city and we owe them acknowledgement and respect for the work they do, day in and day out to keep the person they care for safe and well.

This is a great opportunity for us but there is still much to do. We will be listening to carers and our team will continue to work hard, and in collaboration with our partners, to keep carers voices at the very heart of our service.”
