***This project has now closed. Thank you to everyone who took part.***
Carers Leeds are excited to announce our new project Carers Connecting. Starting from October 2022, this new service is aimed at assisting carers, aged 50 or above and haven’t used social activities or groups at Carers Leeds before, to make connections and help build their support network. The project will reduce the social isolation that many carers feel.
What will Carers Connecting be doing?
Carers Connecting will be organising a series of short trips in and around Leeds, including visits to local attractions like Harewood House, Leeds Playhouse and the Emmerdale set, as well as taking part in other exciting activities such as canal boat trips, shopping trips, local crafts groups, lunches and festive get togethers.
We are also open to suggestions for trips so please let us know if there is something you would be interested in!
Each trip will pick up carers from pre-arranged locations across the community and will be accompanied by volunteers from Carers Leeds, who will help support in making the trips fun and easy to attend for all involved. All you have to do is enjoy the trip!

Hello as a current carer and an ex carer, I’m pleased to see this new project aiming to unite and bring together carers struggling to get out or even connect up with other carers!
I expect it will prove successful and I hope to get more involved in future!
