Hello!… and Thank you for taking the time to read this blog.
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Grace Purnell. I work on the health team here at Carers Leeds, as a Carer Health Support Worker. When I am not working, I enjoy exploring the world, spending time with my loved ones, and planning crazy challenges just like this one.
This year I’ve decided to do something a little out of the ordinary from my day-to-day life, and challenge myself physically and mentally, and push my limits to new heights. You’re probably wondering what the heck I’m doing!…
Well…
As my friends and family know, I don’t like to do things by halves, and in actual fact, this big challenge I have set myself is going to consist of two half marathons, three 10k runs, Tough Mudder, a triathlon, a 100 mile bike ride, a surprise event, and finally finishing off with the Yorkshire Marathon. The two charities I am fundraising for are: ‘Carers Leeds’ and ‘Swindon Interactive Arts Service’.
The money raised will help towards;
- Delivering one-to-one support and workshops for unpaid carers whom may be experiencing mental health issues.
- Helping to sustain SwIAS and ensure that it can provide meaningful activities, giving a high level of stimulation and strong participation for adults with learning difficulties in its local community.
So, I am going to need huge support from each and every one of you to help me through to the finish line.
Grace x
