Studio 42 Photography Project
February 17, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
‘Studio 42’ is a new year-long digital photography project running from January to December 2022, open to all carers in Leeds who are interested in getting creative with their camera – or who have never picked up a camera before and fancy trying something new…
The project will take place both online using zoom, plus face-to-face sessions in Skippko’s new venue in Holbeck, or in outdoor spaces as we venture out with our camera’s.
You will be supported by two Skippko artists Sally and Nicki, who will guide and inspire you to get the best from your camera, be creative, and explore your personal interests, alongside setting inspiring ‘briefs’ and ‘technical challenges’. This will give you chance to really look at what’s around you and notice the things we often overlook!
“The constructive feedback from Nicki & Sally is always welcome, and they’re so positive and cheerful.”
The project will have an emphasis on sharing skills and ideas, time for self, reducing stress and being connected to other people.
No previous experience is needed. You can take part in the full programme or at intervals that suit you, plus we have some compact digital camera’s we can loan if you do not have your own or you can use your phone camera.
The project will culminate in a fantastic exhibition and publication, curated by participants with the support of Nicki and Sally, plus the wonderful Camera-arderie group, who continued with their photography interests after taking part in a Skippko project in 2019.
An introductory meeting will take place on Thursday 17th February at 1pm on zoom. You can learn more about the goals of the project and ask questions about the project too. To join this meeting on Zoom visit : https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9839114005 on the day at 1pm.
