Play the Piano? Enter our competition now!

We are looking for anyone who has been affected by dementia and can play the piano to enter. To be eligible you must have a diagnosis of dementia, be an unpaid carer of someone with dementia or work for an organisation that’s supports people with dementia and their families.

How will it work?

Pianists need to send in a video of them playing the piano (if filming is a problem we can help just let us know). It doesn’t need to be sophisticated, a phone video is fine.

Submissions will be short listed and all shortlisted pianists will be informed soon after the closing date.

Shortlisted pianists will be invited to a friendly judging and social event, supported by the Leeds International Piano Competition on Monday July 17th 2023, at the Howard Assembly Rooms, in Leeds City Centre. Shortlisted pianists must be able to attend the event in person.

The winner will receive a trophy and will also play at a special performance at the banqueting suite at Leeds Civic Hall on Wednesday 6th September 2023 in an event to celebrate Dementia Carers Week. You have to be available to perform at this event, so please ensure you can before you submit.

Submissions open 12pm, Wednesday 24th May 2023 and videos should be submitted using the form below.

Submissions will close at 5pm on Friday 8th July 2023.

If you have difficulty recording your video or submitting it, please contact Ranbir by email or by calling 07572 746 815
