Carers Allowance

Carers Allowance is a state benefit paid to carers who provide a minimum of 35 hours of support per week to the person they care for. This care can include tasks like helping with washing and dressing, accompanying the person you care for at hospital appointments, as well as reminding them to take medication.

Personal Independence Payment

Personal Independence Payment (sometimes referred to as PIP) is a state benefit paid to people aged between 16 and State Pension age who have a long-term physical or mental health condition that impacts their ability to carry out everyday tasks such as preparing a meal, dressing and washing. Personal Independence Payment also considers a person’s ability to get around because of their condition.

Attendance Allowance

Disability Living Allowance

Disability Living Allowance for children (sometimes referred to as DLA) is a state benefit paid to carers of a child with a health condition or disability, who is under the age of 16.

Disability Living Allowance considers how much care and supervision a child needs because of their condition, as well as the child’s ability to get around, compared to a child of the same age who does not have a disability.
