LGBTQ+ Carers

Carers Leeds welcomes and supports all carers.  At Carers Leeds, we see and value LGBTQ+ carers, and our aim is for you feel welcome and safe to access our service.

Based on data from Stonewall and Carers UK, we estimate there are at least 4,000 LGBTQ+ carers in Leeds.

We understand that being an LGBTQ+ carer or caring for someone who is LGBTQ+ can bring specific challenges. You might experience discrimination, or a lack of understanding from service providers, and there can be an impact on your emotional and mental wellbeing.

We aren’t aware of any carer-specific LGBTQ+ groups or activities in Leeds or nationally, but the organisations listed below offer safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ people to meet and find support.
