Our latest updates are here, bringing together exciting ways to get involved, opportunities to support unpaid carers, and news from across Leeds and beyond.
As we continue celebrating our 30th anniversary, there are plenty of ways to join in, give back, and help us recognise the incredible contribution of unpaid carers.
Throughout June, staff, volunteers and trustees are taking on the 3,000 miles in 30 days challenge, walking, running, swimming and cycling to raise funds for unpaid carers across Leeds. Thanks to everyone who has supported the challenge so far, helping raise over £1,500 for our 30th anniversary appeal.
Carers Leeds May 2026 Newsletter
There are plenty of opportunities for carers to get involved throughout June, including a free Money Guidance Workshop at Carers Leeds, online relaxation sessions from Step into Sophrology, and an Office of the Public Guardian session on Lasting Power of Attorney and planning ahead.
We’re also sharing learning and development opportunities, including Swarthmore’s June wellness courses and a Learning Disability & Neurodivergence information session delivered in partnership with Aspire and Adult Social Care.
Carers can also help shape future services through research and engagement opportunities, including the upcoming Carers Voice event, safeguarding and dementia focus sessions with Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and projects exploring technology in Adult Social Care.
Our partners continue to offer ways for carers to connect, contribute and be heard. Opportunities include UnHeard Leeds creative workshops, research opportunities shared by Leeds Older People’s Forum, and support groups such as the Young Dementia Carers Online Group.
You can also catch up on the latest news and stories from Carers Leeds and partner organisations, including our Dementia Awareness Week round-up, support at Chapel Allerton Hospital, and national campaigns such as BBC Caring Matters Week.
