We’re proud to share that following a Leeds City Council procurement process, Carers Leeds has been awarded the contract to continue delivering information, advice and support services for unpaid adult and parent carers, across the city, from April 2026.

The new five-year contract will run from 1 April 2026 until 31 March 2031, with the option for Leeds City Council to extend it for a further three years. This means we could be supporting unpaid carers across Leeds right through to 2034.

This news comes at a particularly special time for us, as we approach 30 years of supporting unpaid carers in Leeds. Since being established in 1996, Carers Leeds has worked alongside thousands of adult and parent carers, providing information, advice and practical support when it is needed most.

As we head into our 30th year, winning the contract is brilliant news for Carers Leeds. We are proud of the service we provide and will put this future funding to good use, aiming to reach more, and more diverse carers every year, with high quality and impactful information, advice and support. Our vision is a city where all carers can live fulfilling lives, this contract helps us get a step closer to that

Claire Turner, Chief Executive of Carers Leeds

Our vision is that all unpaid carers in Leeds are recognised, valued and supported to live fulfilling lives—and this continued investment in our service means we can keep building on that commitment for many years to come.

We would like to thank all carers, partners and supporters who continue to place their trust in us every day. We remain dedicated to listening, learning and working together to make Leeds a city that truly supports its carers.

“I am delighted that Carers Leeds has, once again, won the contract with Leeds City Council to provide information, advice and support services to unpaid adult and parent carers across Leeds; providing us with further stability from which we can continue serve carers across our city and help the voice of carers to be heard.

Andy Rawnsley, Chair of the Carers Leeds Board of Trustees
