Carers Leeds is looking for new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of our organisation.
The Role of a Trustee
Charity trustees play a vital role in ensuring Carers Leeds is run in the best interests of unpaid carers. As a trustee, you’ll share responsibility for the governance and oversight of our charity, ensuring we remain effective, financially sound, and well-managed.
About Carers Leeds
Carers Leeds is a city-wide charity established in 1996 to support unpaid adult and parent carers. Our services include an Advice Line, carers support groups, one-to-one support, and support in hospitals. Some services are open to all carers, while others are targeted at specific groups. We work with communities across Leeds and in partnership with health, social care, and employer organisations to amplify carers’ voices and influence local and national change.
Trustee Responsibilities
Our Board of Trustees is responsible for:
- Ensuring the charity delivers its services effectively
- Overseeing sound financial management and accountability
- Maintaining high standards of governance and integrity
Trustees participate in Board meetings and awaydays and may also contribute to strategic projects, sub-groups, or serve as Lead Trustees for priority areas.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in:
- Digital
- HR
- Income generation
These areas are currently under-represented on our Board. However, previous trustee or charity experience is not required. We welcome people from all backgrounds who are passionate about supporting unpaid carers and committed to making a difference in Leeds.
