Carers Leeds is proud to be taking part in Leeds Pride again this year on Sunday 20th July, and we warmly invite all carers to join us in the celebrations!

Pride is a powerful celebration of visibility, equality, and love – and at Carers Leeds, we welcome and support all carers, and we’re committed to making sure LGBTQ+ carers feel safe, included, and able to access our services without judgment.

Why Pride matters to carers:

Based on data from Stonewall and Carers UK, we estimate there are at least 4,000 LGBTQ+ carers in Leeds.

We understand that being an LGBTQ+ carer or caring for someone who is LGBTQ+ can bring specific challenges. You might experience discrimination, or a lack of understanding from service providers, and there can be an impact on your emotional and mental wellbeing.

Pride gives us a space to come together, celebrate who we are, and show that carers – in all their diversity – matter.

Joining us on the day:

The parade will begin to weave through the city at 12pm, from outside the Town Hall – look out for the glitter, rainbows, and friendly faces!

We’re part of Group 4 in the parade, and we believe we’re first to set off in that group. Our walking group assembles on Great George Street, just before Leeds Cathedral. All organisations need to be in place by 11:45am, and we’ll head up together from to the starting point. Please see attached the group points map.

🎉 Come and walk with us!

Let’s make Pride a celebration of carers, community, and connection.
