We’re here to support unpaid carers in Leeds.

Across Leeds, unpaid carers make incredible sacrifices every day to support the people they love.

Many carers take on this role without support, guidance, or recognition. Caring can be rewarding, but it can also be exhausting and overwhelming. Caring can impact negatively on your health and wellbeing, money and can leave carers feeling isolated and lonely.

Thanks to donations like yours, Carers Leeds can be here for unpaid adult and parent carers when they need us most. Your support helps us run our Support Line, carers groups, one-to-one support and a presence in Leeds hospitals. Our services are provided to communities throughout Leeds. Together, we can make a real difference.

For 30 years, Carers Leeds has been championing unpaid carers across our city. With your support, we can continue to be here for every carer who needs us—ensuring they’re not alone, their voices are heard, and their lives are valued.

Remember someone special

Remembering someone you’ve lost by donating in their memory is a wonderful way to celebrate their life and support the work of Carers Leeds.

Ways to give in memory

  • Make a donation — Give directly in memory of your loved one. You can also make a regular donation to honour the person you have lost.
  • Funeral collections — Encourage donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral or memorial service.
  • Fundraise in their memory — Organise a fundraiser to honour their life while supporting carers.

Your kindness helps Carers Leeds provide vital support to carers when they need it most.

Leave a gift in your will

Why leave a gift in your Will to Carers Leeds?

A gift in your Will, no matter the size, is a meaningful way to support a cause you care about and leave a lasting impact. After taking care of your family and loved ones, a gift to Carers Leeds can help improve the lives of unpaid carers across our city. Your legacy could make this vision a reality.

How do I leave a gift in my Will?

Your estate includes everything you own—property, vehicles, money in the bank or in cash, stocks, ISAs, and similar assets. You can leave a portion of this to charity in a few different ways:

  • Specific item or property: A particular possession or asset.
  • Residuary gift: A percentage—or even all—of your estate. Even a small percentage can make a big difference for carers.
  • Pecuniary gift: A fixed sum of money, often referred to as a cash gift.

We understand that your family and loved ones will always come first when planning your Will. By leaving a gift to Carers Leeds, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of carers in our city.

I have two adult sons. One of them is an addict – that’s what’s brought me to Carers Leeds.

What is Payroll Giving?

It is a simple, tax-free way of giving to charity directly from your salary.

How does it work?

Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax. If you pay tax at the basic rate of 20%, for each £1 you donate, it will only cost you 80p. If you pay tax at the higher rate of 40% it will only cost you 60p. This means Payroll Giving donations cost you at least 25% less as they’re taken from your pre-tax pay.

What are the benefits of Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving provides Carers Leeds with a regular, long-term income. This is invaluable because it not only provides guaranteed revenue but also enables us to budget and plan more effectively.

For you it is a tax-free, practical way of giving and you know that every £1 you donate will go directly to helping provide support and advice for unpaid carers in Leeds.

For example, giving just £5 a month (£60 per year) will go towards the cost of providing a massage therapy treatment for an unpaid carer, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
