Our February 2026 newsletter is now live, packed with the latest updates, events and opportunities for unpaid carers in Leeds.
This month, we’re launching a special video project and are looking for three carers to share their experiences in professionally produced short films to help raise awareness and support our fundraising. We’re also recruiting for an Operational Manager to join our team, and as we celebrate 30 years of Carers Leeds this year, we’re inviting carers to save the date for our Woof and Walk on Saturday 18th April.

Hello from Carers Leeds — here’s what’s happening in February 2026.
We’re launching a special video project to share the voices of unpaid carers supported by Carers Leeds. We’re looking for three carers to take part in professionally produced short films to help raise awareness and support fundraising. Everyone who takes part will receive a voucher as a thank you.
We’re also recruiting for an Operational Manager — a key leadership role helping oversee our services and support our dedicated team. If you’re looking for a meaningful role making a real difference to carers in Leeds, take a look.
As we celebrate 30 years of Carers Leeds this year, save the date for our Woof and Walk on Saturday 18th April. It’s a relaxed, dog-friendly walk just for carers — a chance to enjoy some fresh air, meet others and help raise funds to support unpaid carers across the city.
There are plenty of learning opportunities coming up too. On the 4th of March join our online session about paying for permanent residential care, covering funding, financial support and planning ahead. We’re also running an understanding dementia workshop on March 28th in Horsforth, and Carers UK will be delivering an online session about hospital discharge and your rights on March 19th.
There are also city-wide events including a dementia and ethnic diversity awareness day, a SEND parent carer drop-in, and a diabetes information event.
Our Pudsey Carers Group has moved and now meets at Claremont Grove Retirement Housing, LS28 7DL, on the last Thursday of each month from 10.30am to 12pm.
If you’d like to help shape services, there are opportunities to share your views — such as giving feedback to Forward Leeds, joining the Autism Carers Reference Group or completing a SEND survey. There is research you can take part in about green spaces, brain health or support for carers of people experiencing psychosis.
To find out more or book onto events, visit the Carers Leeds website.
And as always, Carers Leeds is here to support you in your caring role.
