Know your rights, Use your rights.
This year, Carers Rights Day falls on Thursday 20 November, and the theme is “Know your rights, use your rights.”
Every day, thousands of people take on the role of unpaid carers for a partner, family member, or friend – often without realising they are carers or what support and legal rights they are entitled to. In Leeds, there are 61,500 carers who deserve access to guidance, support, and benefits that can ease the pressures of caring.
Caring should not mean missing out on support designed to make life a little easier. Whether you care around the clock, balance caring with work and family life, are new to caring, or have been supporting someone for years, every carer in Leeds deserves to know their rights and feel empowered to use them.
