About the Programme
People in Action is delivering a Healthy Lifestyles Training Programme designed to help families, friends, and carers support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults to live healthier and happier lives.
The FREE half-day Health and Wellbeing training course has been developed by People in Action’s Healthy Lifestyles Team. Each session is led by experienced trainers who guide small groups through the essentials of maintaining a healthy lifestyle — including healthy eating, weight management, physical activity, and emotional wellbeing.
Training sessions are tailored to the needs of the people participants support, offering practical advice, resources, and strategies to make a positive impact in everyday life.
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery, the course is completely free to attend for families and friends of learning disabled or autistic adults.
A separate version of the training is also available for paid carers and professionals, providing additional depth and professional development opportunities.
People in Action’s Healthy Lifestyles Training Programme helps those who support others to build knowledge, confidence, and understanding around health and wellbeing.
