Support for carers with mental health needs

Carers Leeds provide support for carers to improve their own health and wellbeing. In the 2018 Carers UK State of Caring survey, 72% of carers in the UK said they had suffered mental ill health as a result of caring. Our aim is to ensure that carers across Leeds are able to care without a negative impact on their health.

This project is part of Live Well Leeds, a new community based mental health service to support people with mild to moderate mental health needs. This new service is made up of 19 organisations including Touchstone (Lead Provider) Community Links and Leeds Mind.

Carers who are referred to this project for support will be invited to an initial assessment to ensure that you access the most appropriate support for your needs. After this initial assessment, carers may attend a welcome cafe where they will begin a care plan and set goals for improvement to mental health. The Live Well Leeds welcome cafes operate daily, including weekends and some evenings.
