We are delighted to have been awarded £3,943 from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme – thanks to all those shoppers, many of whom will be carers in Leeds,  who dropped their tokens into the perspex box to make us the winners of the September/October funding round.  We also thank Tesco for giving us an opportunity to promote our service – the more carers who know about what we do and the support available to them, the better.

Tesco’s Head of Community, Alec Brown has said:

‘Bags of Help has been a fantastic success.  We’ve been overwhelmed by the response from our customers.  The great thing about Bags of Help is that local people are invited to decide how the money will be spent in their community.  We can’t wait to see the projects come to life’.

We will be using the money from this scheme to fund 3 carer support groups , paying for refreshments, room hire, speakers and therapists.  Our fantastic carer support group programme, which delivers over 30 different monthly groups, offers carers a choice of type of group, location, day, time – it’s all about choice, so that we can meet the needs of our wonderfully diverse city.
