Carers Leeds provide support for carers to improve their own health and wellbeing.

In the 2018 Carers UK State of Caring survey, 72% of carers in the UK said they had suffered mental ill health and 61% said they had suffered physical ill health as a result of caring. Our aim is to ensure that carers across Leeds are able to care without a negative impact on their health.

Following feedback on our recent series of online wellbeing workshops, we are pleased to continue running these useful info sessions for carers.

Using Zoom, our carers good health worker Jo Foster will run a 40 minute session on various aspects of carer health and wellbeing.

To secure your place and get the joining details, email jo.foster@carersleeds.org.uk stating the session name and which date you wish to attend.

If you are interested in a session but there isn’t a time or date to suit you, or you don’t have access to Zoom, contact Jo who will work with you to find a way to share the information with you.

The sessions include various hints and tips on how carers can look to aid or improve their wellbeing, along with the opportunity to try out some techniques if you want to.  We also suggest apps and websites that can support you further.

The sessions are very relaxed and you can just sit and watch. Participation is minimal and not compulsory, so you are welcome to attend and just watch and listen.

Why not devote a small part of your day to your own wellbeing, get a cuppa and join Jo.  80% of carers surveyed after the last round of sessions said they were “extremely likely” to attend another session.
