This week we celebrate mental health awareness week, a national campaign hosted by the Mental Health Foundation.

This year for Mental Health Awareness Week (14-20 May), the focus is on stress. Research has shown that two thirds of us experience a mental health problem in our lifetimes, and stress is a key factor in this.

By tackling stress, we can go a long way to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide. We can support carers to look at how they can tackle stress and help improve mental health.

For more information about the support we offer visit this link.

Also this week we’ll have free goody bags available in Carers Leeds HQ which we hope will bring a little sunshine, whether you’re struggling with your own mental health or caring for someone who is. Just pop into reception to collect yours.
