Carers Leeds Events Calendar

This event is a taster session of a creative drama wellbeing workshop similar to the fun sessions we ran earlier this year.

It will give carers a chance to meet the lovely people from Fall into Place and get more information about the possibility of future drama workshops. Join us to find out what the workshops will involve and have a fun afternoon with other carers.

When is the workshop?

Tuesday 14 July 10:30am – 12pm.

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is for carers; anyone who looks after a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, mental health issues or an addiction cannot manage without their help.

What is the workshop for?

These workshops aims to boost your wellbeing while trying out new creative skills. We hope that at the end of the session you will feel happier, refreshed and energised.

What will happen in the workshop?

These workshops are funded by the Arts Council England and will include elements of dance, drama, movement and games, playfulness and mindfulness that all aim to help you feel positive and energised.

Don’t worry if you’ve never done drama or movement before – it’s a friendly and relaxed workshop open to people of all abilities, and aims to be fun and refreshing – great for trying something new! We would like to make this as inclusive as possible so please do let us know if you have any specific accessibility needs.

Where will the session take place?

Sessions will be online and offer a safe space for you to take part in creative activities. It is also a great way to connect with other carers.

We will be using Zoom, you may have heard of it – Zoom is a website that allows you to meet groups of people virtually using videocall and audio.

Here’s a quick guide to get you started on Zoom (thanks to our friends over at People in Action): http://peopleinaction.org.uk/uncategorized/2020/zoom-tutorials/

How can I book my place?

Please email Nashima.Choudhury@carersleeds.org.uk  and Nashima will send to you all the details you need to join.

Who is leading the workshop?

The workshops are facilitated by Sarah and Minoti from Fall into Place. They are both based in Yorkshire and extremely passionate about enabling creative experiences that focus on improving confidence, communication and wellbeing through innovative drama, dance and playfulness techniques.

Where do I find more information?
