Training for carers of people with dementia
We provide training to education and support carers of people with dementia to enable them to better manage their caring role. The courses focus on giving participants an understanding of dementia, how to access support as a carer, financial and legal affairs and planning for the future. The courses are facilitated by two specialist Dementia Carer Support Workers.
For more information about when training courses are being run, please contact us on 0113 246 8338.
Caring Well Training
We regularly run a 4 session training course for carers covering: looking after yourself, money and managing issues that arise in the caring role (eg medication, emergencies, assessments, power of attorney). The focus of the course is on sharing information and ideas between trainers and course participants with a view to feeling well informed, positive and confident in the caring role.
Please check the newsletter or this site for dates of new courses coming up.
