West Leeds Project

Hello, I’m Grace Purnell. I’m the new Carers Awareness Trainer in the West of Leeds, funded by the Leeds West CCG. I started in post only two weeks ago and I’m very excited to get started and get my teeth into the project. I’m not a complete newbie to Carers Leeds, as some of you may know I was working on the Health and Wellbeing project last year and I’m the women behind Step into My Shoes Fundraiser. My main role as Carer Awareness Trainer is to deliver short Carers Awareness Training sessions for staff working in GP practices and community health settings within the Leeds West CCG area. The training will help primary care staff to better understand the importance of identifying carers, look at ways in which they can best support carers and to increase the Yellow Card referrals to Carers Leeds. Together let’s make Leeds the BEST city for carers! If you work in primary care and would be interested in Carer Awareness Training in West Leeds, you can call me on: 07398 173 322 or email on: grace.purnell@carersleeds.org.uk
